Being in leadership is a lonely place and being a woman in leadership is even more so. I have been in different capacities of leadership for over 36 years and a pastor for 6 of those years. While I love what I do and would not want to do anything else, having someone that I trust enough to be transparent with is nearly impossible. Being a woman in leadership puts you under a constant microscope, and many times it seems without any support because we are the one who needs to be someone else’s strength. But every now and then we need to have a sounding board, someone to listen to us without judgement, someone to just be ourselves with; and just when it seemed there wasn’t anyone to fill those shoes, there was Denise Mock.
